Deadline to enter the 2024 ISB Build a Bass Sweepstakes is Tuesday, August 20.

At the 2023 convention at the University of Michigan, the ISB Build a Bass Team of luthier volunteers, led by Paul Hart, generously shared their time and incredible talents to create not just one, but two instruments like none other!

Double bass number two, a gamba-shaped Wilhelm Klier model, was begun in Ann Arbor and completed in 2024 by Paul Hart and the team at Robertson & Sons Violins in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This brand new beautiful bass is waiting for a home so it can begin its musical life.

The winner is responsible for cost of shipping/delivery from Robertson & Sons Violins in Albuquerque to the winner's door.

A portion of the proceeds from this sweepstakes will support the 2024-2025 ISB Rodney Mohr Luthier Scholarship Program.

• Upper bout width 26 inches
• C-bout width 13 and 3/4 inches
• Lower bout width 19 and 1/4 inches
• Body length 43 and 1/2 inches
• String length should be 41 and 1/2 inches
